I produced this song from the lyrics of my nieces recently published poetry book. Her poem "These days" felt like it needed to come to life. Her writing is absolutely beautiful and honest, and that vulnerability and truth is ever so captivating. I am honoured to be able to have created this track out of her beautiful lyrics.

these days
i am watery
the dam has been broken
the one i built myself
after being shown a counterfeit love
now
with self-doubt i play hide and seek
a belly full of butterflies
and everything makes me cry
so i say

where there is trickle let there be surge
where there are thoughts let there be words
where there is pain or ecstasy
let them be felt
fully

i am still mourning my past self
i wish to bring presence to her
transcend to her
and tell her
that
its going to be ok.
that she will find love
that the dam will break
and she will will be her own healer
when she learns how to receive it

life and death
are yang and yin
when red and blue die
purple's life begins

and maybe that's why
i had the courage to keep seeking
